Meet Captain John W. Arens
It is with great pleasure, I introduce many of you to Captain John W. Arens. He is known in the military world as a Mustang. A rare military personnel that has risen in rank as a commissioned officer without attending an accredited military academy. John W. Arens and I have been working diligently on his autobiography. As of this writing, publishers have been requesting the rights. But the fun has only begun.
John W. Arens spent 37 years of his life in service to our country. He proudly wears his Merchant Marine whites. But if you look closely, you may be quite confused. John W. Arens started his career as a Merchant Marine. Only to be drafted during WWII into the Army. Followed eventually by military discharges from the US Coast Guard and the US Army. Only to decide he should join the Navy.
The extraordinary life of Captain John W. Arens is special not only because he was a Mustang. But what happened in between his promotions. Parachuting over Korea without proper training, becoming a Navy Seal, a Navy Ranger, diving in the Arctic waters and more. The stories are truly amazing. Of which any one of those accomplishments are worthy enough for most servicemen.
I’ll be releasing more of John’s crazy world as the weeks carry on. Stand by and buckle up! #MilitaryMustang
